Today, tdDaz, the Custom Gamer covered my bonus map entry to CombinationVille, Cannon Beach. If you haven’t seen this level in action yet, this is a great video that serves as a playthrough and highlights many of the design aspects of the level.
In the time since Forest Train was released, I’ve had the fortune of seeing many YouTubers play it. Yesterday, I happened to find BJ Kill Ji-Mae’s playthrough, which could very well be the greatest playthrough I’ve ever seen. This video is notable for two reasons. First, it’s the only one I know that demonstrates version 1.1 of the mod. But secondly, most of the video is in Korean. And well, you’ve just got to watch it, okay? It’s awesome and a wonderful reminder of how the fun of video games transcends language barriers. These are the things that make all those long hours of modding worthwhile.
CombinationVille has been released! I created the Bonus Map for this contest, Cannon Beach. It was developed over the course of a month and was not a formal contest entry, whereas the actual entrants had around 15 days. The goal of this competition was to create a map based on two weapons (one of which must be the Crowbar) and two enemies.
Forest Train 1.1 is now available. You can download it at PlanetPhillip!
Along with Circle Stars, I’ve been working on a version 1.1 of Forest Train which should be available in the coming days on PlanetPhillip. This version brings improvements to the mounted gun and Hunter-Chopper battles and also fixes a bug with Manhack spawning and the train getting stuck on small items. Other miscellaneous things were also addressed.
